Robert Weis, owner of Robert's Restoration Gallery, has an eye for vintage American-made furniture. And it shows in the collection of restored and refinished furniture in his retail gallery. Robert acquired and then either restored or refinished each piece in his workshop to glorify its original design, wood and craftsmanship in your home.
Inside Robert's Restoration Gallery, you'll find a constantly changing collection of quality-built mahogany, walnut, oak, bird's eye maple and other hardwood furniture with the authentic history and look for a by-gone era. And, unlike consigment shops, every piece in Robert's Restoration Gallery is already restored and ready to be proudly displayed in your home.
At the retail store on 139 Parkway Avenue, in Bronxville NY, you'll find furniture ranging from eclectic to traditional; from antique to timeless.
"A step into Robert's Restoration Gallery in Bronxville is a step into the past, to a time when most furniture was crafted by hand, not by machine. 'I've been at this for more than 20 years and I learn something new every time I do a job or get a new piece' said Robert's owner, [Robert] Weis...
'I really enjoy doing the work, using my skills to restore beautiful furniture or a part of someone's home.'...
Robert's has played a role in the restoration of hundreds of private residences, churches, apartment buildings and offices, including the rehabilitation of the Bronxville Library furniture during its renovation...
'We have people coming in all the time to look at the pieces who then employ us to do work in their homes.' Weis said. 'I've made a lot of friends here in Bronxville over the years. People who know antiques really appreciate what we do.'...
Weis says he still enjoys uncovering a fine piece of wood beneath years of paint and stain. 'There's a thrill in stripping several coats of stain or paint and finding that great crafted wood,' Weis said. 'That's the first thing I learned to do and I still enjoy doing it.'"

Overall, Robert's Restoration Gallery's business is restoring clients' furniture. The furniture worked on is often cherished with family lineage and it is not limited to true antiques. He also routinely works on 'finds' that clients purchase at flea markets or used furniture shops that need repair and attention to bring them to their full potential.
Robert takes pride in bringing old furniture back to life, whether it be by repairing and restoring or by stripping old finish off and applying a more appropriate new finish.
Clients are amazed at the difference Robert's shop makes on furniture that have seen better days. Many have spent years or decades in spare rooms & attics before their transformation back into showpieces with a new pride and usefulness.
While Robert's Restoration Gallery has many private clients in the area, his most appreciated public work was his recent restoration of the furniture in the Bronxville Library.
Stop by the shop or call Robert about your furniture restoration project. Pick up and delivery service available as well as estate clean outs.
